is a professional association accredited by the Philippine
Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). It was established
in 1945 with the objectives of promoting the science of geology
and allied earth sciences; to foster the spirit of research;
to disseminate knowledge concerning the Geology of the
Philippines and the regions surrounding it; and to protect
and maintain high professional and ethical standard in the
practice of Geology amongst its members.
The GSP operates from funds mainly generated from annual
membership dues. The continued services of the Society,
the Journal, the newsletter, the First Quarter Baguio Seminar,
the mid-year Picnic/Geological Exposure, the Third Quarter
GeoFest and the culminating year-end GEOCON and this web page
rely heavily on this funding. All members are reminded to
maintain their active status by being up to date in your
annual membership dues. Please remember that payment is due
prior to the beginning of the calendar year.
The GeoSocPhil created this Electronic Home Page to
enhance its efficiency in delivering services to its members.
Most importantly, this is among the efforts of GeoSocPhil
to link the Filipino earth scientist with the rest of the world.
